Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Jasola

Vice Chancellor

Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Jasola currently serves as the Vice Chancellor at DBS Global University in Dehradun. Previously, he held the position of founding Vice Chancellor at Graphic Era Hill University for four terms, spanning more than 12 years.
Prof. Jasola has also served as Dean (Academics) and Dean (School of ICT) at Gautam Buddha University in Greater Noida. With over three decades of experience in teaching, research, and academic administration, he has a rich background in education. He has been a faculty member at Wawasan Open University in Penang, Malaysia, and held the role of Deputy Director at IGNOU in New Delhi.
Prof. Jasola has conducted workshops on Open Educational Resources (OER) in various countries including the UK, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and India. He has provided consultancy services to several prestigious organizations such as the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) Canada, Commonwealth Educational Media Centre For Asia (CEMCA), UNESCO, Asian Development Bank (ADB), and various government agencies in India.
Academically, Prof. Jasola holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering from KNIT Sultanpur, a Master of Technology in Computer Science and Technology from IIT Roorkee, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the School of Computer and System Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi.
He is an accomplished researcher with over 100 publications in international and national journals, conferences, and book chapters. Prof. Jasola has guided numerous students through their academic journeys; he has supervised 21 M.Tech students and 5 Ph.D. students.
His contributions to education have been recognized with several awards. Notably, he received the Gold Medal for Innovation in Open & Distance Learning from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) for his role in implementing the EDUSAT Network under the guidance of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam during his tenure as President of India. Additionally, Prof. Jasola holds a PG Diploma and Master of Arts in Distance Education from IGNOU, New Delhi.
