Mr. Akshay Keshav Pradhan is a legal academic and practitioner with a specialised interest in Human Rights Law. He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at DBS Global University, Dehradun, and is pursuing his Ph.D., contributing to advanced legal research and scholarship.

A UGC-NET qualified academic and AIBE-certified legal professional, he holds an LL.M. in Human Rights Law and Refugee Law from National Law School of India University (NLSIU), a Postgraduate Diploma in Arbitration Law (PGDAL) from National Law School of India University (NLSIU), and a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Amity Law School. He has further specialised through a Diploma in Cyber Law from Asian School of Cyber Laws, Pune, reflecting his engagement with emerging and specialised domains of law. He had also cleared the Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination, but chose to dedicate himself to academia.

He began his professional journey in 2019 as an Assistant Professor and later served as a Legal Consultant at the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), New Delhi (2022–2025). During his tenure, he handled complaints relating to human rights violations, custodial deaths, electrocution cases, and dowry-related matters, and prepared the NHRC Annual Reports for 2021–2022, 2022–2023, and 2023–2024, which were subsequently laid before Parliament each year.

Deeply committed to human rights, he has engaged with several grassroots organisations including the Tibetan Self-Help Centre, Darjeeling, and the Kanchenjunga Uddhar Kendra, which works for victims of human trafficking. He possesses strong writing and public speaking skills, has authored articles on socio-economic issues, and maintains a keen interest in books, music, and sports.
