Dr. Punam Kumari Bhagat is a committed legal academician currently serving as an Associate Professor at the School of Law, DBS Global University, Dehradun. With extensive academic and professional experience spanning over a decade, including prior roles across reputed institutions, she brings a rich blend of teaching, research, and practical legal exposure to her academic responsibilities. She holds a Ph.D. in Law from CCS University and is a UGC-NET qualified scholar, with an LL.M. in Business Law from Ranchi University. Dr. Bhagat has also enriched her academic profile with a Post Graduate Diploma in International Business Operations (IGNOU) and a strong foundation in commerce.

Before entering academia, she practiced as an Advocate at Asansol Subdivision Court and Ranchi High Court, which adds practical insight to her teaching. Her areas of interest include Corporate and Business Law, Human Rights, Cyber Law, and Gender Justice. She has made significant contributions to legal scholarship through numerous publications in UGC Care and Scopus-indexed journals on contemporary issues such as data privacy, cybercrime, women’s rights, and constitutional law.

Dr. Bhagat has actively participated in and presented research papers at various national and international seminars and conferences and has been involved in multiple faculty development programs focusing on research methodology, legal education, and emerging interdisciplinary themes. She continues to contribute actively to legal education through research, academic engagement, and a commitment to aligning legal studies with evolving societal and technological challenges.
