DBS Global University Signs MoU with IIT Ropar to Strengthen Future Focused Academic Collaboration
DBS Global University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) to strengthen academic collaboration and create enhanced learning, research and industry exposure opportunities for students and faculty.
The MoU was signed by Prof. Rajeev Anuja, Director, IIT Ropar, and Prof. Sanjay Jasola, Vice Chancellor, DBS Global University, on 7 August 2026.
The collaboration brings together the academic expertise and institutional strengths of both organisations across several areas. These include specialised certification programmes, structured internships, faculty development, credit transfer, industry engagement, curriculum development and experiential learning.
Key areas of collaboration
Under the partnership, IIT Ropar will offer eligible DGU students access to Basic and Advanced Drone Technology Certification Programmes, designed to provide practical exposure through classroom sessions, laboratory work, field demonstrations, simulations and industry interaction.
The two institutions will also work towards establishing a structured internship pathway, providing students with opportunities to gain experiential learning through internships at IIT Ropar schools, departments and companies incubated by or associated with the institute.
Faculty members at DBS Global University will have opportunities for professional development and upskilling in emerging areas including Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Technologies, Data Analytics, Research Methodology, Outcome Based Education, Digital Teaching Tools and industry practices.
The MoU also provides a framework for both institutions to jointly develop curriculum, academic calendars and learning outcomes, while collaborating on admissions, outreach, participant selection, guest lectures, alumni engagement and industry networking.
A Joint Programme Steering Committee will oversee the academic collaboration, monitor programme delivery, review participant feedback and ensure academic quality.
An important aspect of the partnership is the proposed exploration of a Degree or Diploma Programme in Business Technology, which may be jointly designed and delivered by faculty members from both institutions.
Through this collaboration, DBS Global University and IIT Ropar aim to build stronger pathways between academic learning, emerging technologies, industry exposure and professional development, providing students with opportunities to learn from leading academic and technological ecosystems.
The partnership marks another step in DGU's commitment to expanding future-focused learning opportunities and building meaningful collaborations with leading institutions.
