The Department of Agriculture and Forestry organized an educational visit to the Central Silk Technological Research Institute (CSTRI), Central Silk Board, Dehradun on 14th May 2026. The visit provided students with valuable exposure to modern sericulture practices, mulberry cultivation, silkworm rearing, cocoon production, and ongoing research initiatives in the silk sector.
Students interacted with experts and observed various facilities, including sericulture laboratories, mulberry gardens, and silk processing units. The visit enhanced their understanding of silk production technologies, research advancements, and sustainable livelihood opportunities associated with sericulture.
The programme successfully bridged classroom learning with practical field exposure, enabling students to gain firsthand knowledge of scientific innovations and career prospects in the sericulture industry.
